Incidental Music for Welcome to the Moon and Other Plays

The pieces below are part of a collection of incidental music written for Adelphi University Theatre Department's Fall 2025 production of Welcome to the Moon and Other Plays, a series of short plays by John Patrick Shanley.

Intro to "A Lonely Impulse of Delight"

A jazz-influenced piece in 6/8 time with typical jazz instruments.

Intro to "Down and Out"

A slow duet in G minor scored for violin and cello.

Intro to "Out West"

A country-influenced piece with typical country instruments. The melody is a variation on the intro to "A Lonely Impulse of Delight," played by the fiddle and the harmonica.

River Song

This piece, inspired by the Hudson River, was originally composed for solo piano. This arrangement for piano, flute, and clarinet was created specifically for the Parhelion Trio and premiered in 2025 at Adelphi University.

Seasonal Pieces: Summer

The second of a collection of four pieces, each for a specific season, written to accompany Tech Unlimited's 2025 Digital Art Week Student Showcase. It is in a pop-rock style and is intended to conjure a nostalgic feeling for summers past.
